This trek takes you around the spectacular Mount Manaslu, the world’s eighth highest mountain at 8,163 meters, providing the best combination of wilderness, culture and high-altitude challenge.
The Manaslu Circuit in north-central Nepal takes trekkers through remote valleys, roaring rivers, suspension bridges, dense forests and traditional mountain villages with Tibetan cultural influences. The route takes an average of 14 to 18 days and is roughly 170 kilometres long, depending on the itinerary.
Why is the Manaslu Circuit Special?
Manaslu is less commercialised and quiet, unlike the busier trekking trails of Nepal. The path leads through real villages with traditions, monasteries, prayer wheels and stone houses preserved for generations in their original state.

Trekkers experience dramatic landscape changes, from subtropical forests and terraced farms to alpine meadows and glacial valleys. Along the way, you will enjoy spectacular views of peaks like Mount Manaslu, Himalchuli, Ngadi Chuli and Ganesh Himal. The biggest challenge and reward of the trek is the crossing of Larke Pass at 5,106m, where every step is rewarded with panoramic Himalayan views.
Best Time to Trek
Spring (March–May)
Clear skies, blooming rhododendrons, and comfortable temperatures.
Autumn (September–November)
Stable weather, crisp mountain views, and ideal trekking conditions.
Permits Required
Manaslu is a restricted area so trekkers need special permits including:
- Manaslu Permits
- Manaslu Conservation Area Permit (MCAP)
Why Trek Manaslu?
The Manaslu Circuit is ideal for those wanting the beauty of the Himalayas without the huge crowds. Remote villages, ancient culture, dramatic mountain scenery and the unforgettable crossing of Larke Pass combine to make this trek one of Nepal’s most authentic and unforgettable adventures.
